Your Family Clinic: Notes from the Parent Autism Support Group held on September 19, 2020 via ZoomNotes from the Autism Spectrum Disorders Parent Support Group on September 19, 2020sponsored by Your Family Clinic, LLCNotes from Autism Spectrum Disorders Parent Support Group of September 19, 2020Sponsored by Your Family Clinic, LLCOn September 18, 2020, Ms. Mary Jane Guidry led the discussion. We thank all of the participants. Here is a list of resources that were presented at the Zoom Group Meeting. Children on the Autism Spectrum are often sensitive to environmental toxins. Most environmental toxins often come from the food we eat, the products we clean with and even the products we bath with. Melaleuca is a wellness company that offers affordable alternatives to toxic chemicals. You need to be a member or know a member to use their products. Both Ms. Mary Jane Guidry (phone number: 601-408-2452) and Ms. Andrea Cunningham (phone number: 704-795-0356) are members and can help you get started and answer questions. Ms. Cunningham is also a member of Shaklee which also has wellness products and is a nice alternative if your child is sensitive to fragrances. Medical doctors who specialize in getting individuals off the Autism Spectrum are called MAPS doctors. That is what they do. They get individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum off the Autism Spectrum. More information about these wonderful doctors can be found at TACA which stands for The Autism Community in Action. There is an organization that helps children with special needs participate in summer camp and other activities. More information about this organization can be found at Kids and Dreams. For those on the spectrum who also suffer from an Attention Deficit Disorder (and most of the children on the spectrum do), Additude Magazine has numerous on line resources. They also have Free Webinars on certain topics. They can be reached at additudemag.com. They have simple quizzes, articles and webinars. They usually have their live presentations at noon. If you can not make it, they allow you to watch the replay. One more bit of information that hopefully will be of use to some of you. There is an essential oil that has a reputation to help children sleep. You administer this essential oil on their big toe and then they are more likely to fall asleep and sleep through the night. The name of this oil is called Vetiver. I hope you find it useful. The photo was from My Life Journal from Unsplash.com. We thank them for shairing their work.
