Guideline One to Optimum Wellnessby Daniel T. Moore, Ph.D.Copyrighted 2008Welcome to day one of your ten guidelines to Optimum Wellness. I hope you enjoy this first one and get really excited about the guidelines. Thank you again for reading it. Please feel free to share with me your comments about it. As you may know, my name is Dan Moore and I am a Psychologist working with children. I have always been interested in wellness and believe that Applied Holistic Psychology is the best way to treat children and adults of their mental health concerns and their physical concerns. I feel that there is not much difference between the body and he mind. They both effect each other. So... let's talk about wellness. Wellness is the process of doing things that maximize the health of your body and emotional well being. Optimum wellness means no physical problems, mental problems and a reserve of energy. The following ten guidelines, if followed, will take you on a journey to get you to the state of maximum health or as close to that state as possible irregardless of your current physical condition or your age. All of these guidelines are based on the assumption that the body can heal itself if given the right conditions. I believe that the body can heal itself of any disease or mental disorder if properly detoxified from all toxins and foreign matter and properly nourished. Most people are sick because they have too many toxins in their body. The body cannot handle the amount of toxins so disease sets in. The body cannot nourish itself properly with too many toxins. If you had a toxin free body you would rarely be sick and be able to live to a very old age without much suffering. Wait a minute, you may say. What about genetics? Yes, genetics is a huge factor on so many diseases and illnesses. I feel that the following expression describes the role of genetics: "Genetics load the gun but it is the environment that pull the trigger." The manner in which you are likely to get sick as a result of toxins and foreign matter is largely determined by genetics. Our current technology does not allow us to control our genetic makeup. However, we do have some control on what to do about the toxins and foreign matter. It is perfectly fine to be skeptical about the assumption that the body can heal itself. Your skepticism will turn into profound belief as you follow these 10 guidelines. You do not need to believe in our assumption to gain from these guidelines. Most professionals in the healing arts do not believe this assumption. Most believe that there are no cures for chronic illnesses. For example, they have scientific study after scientific study on mortality rates and diseases. And according to the results of their studies, they are correct in saying that most people with pancreatic cancer will die from it within a short period of time. Because of this belief, they will never try to detoxify the body and then nourish the body in a way that can cure pancreatic cancer. They live their lives never finding the major flaws to their scientific studies. Most do not believe that a child can recover from a birth disorder such as Cerebral Palsy. Yet, there are documented cases from children fully recovering from this dreaded disease. Fortunately there are thousands of people that do believe in these assumptions and are getting results. That is why the following first guideline is possible. Guideline one: Set a goal of how you want your body to heal. Know precisely what you want so you can envision it happening. Then find and talk to people that have accomplished a similar goal as yours. For example, if you are suffering from cancer and you want to recover, you can set a goal of being completely cancer free within a year. Then find other people who have survived your type of cancer. Talk to them to find out how they did it. Talk to as many people who have survived cancer as you can and learn from each one of them. I suggest going for the seemingly impossible. I would go for a cancer cure that does not disfigure the body. I would go for a cure that has me living a high quality of life. Go for complete wellness. If the proposed treatment does not accomplish this, I would not spend time finding out further information. Investigate the treatments that accomplish your goal. Talk to the people that have accomplished your goal. Stick with the winners! The importance of this step cannot be overstated. Your conscious and sub-conscious mind will help you achieve anything you can envision. If you cannot envision it, you will not likely achieve it. Thousands upon thousands of people have survived cancer over the years. Find out how they did it. If you have Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), do the same thing. Imagine how you want your life (or your child's life) to be free of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Then talk to people who have accomplished the same goal. Not everyone 's method of curing ADHD will work for you. ADHD is a collection of disorders with multiple causes. The methods of curing ADHD also involve detoxing the body and giving it the right nourishment. Some will need neuro-development procedures added to their ADHD treatment to develop neuro-pathways that were undeveloped due to the toxin. Others may overcome all their symptoms by getting adequate sleep and good hydration. I will talk more about these treatments in future guidelines. While many physicians will only address symptoms, there are physicians that will heal the body. Dr. Robert Fortier Benson of Mississippi, Dr. Kenneth Bock of New York, and Dr. Mary Ann Block of Texas are three good examples of medical doctors who seek healing of chronic diseases. Hopefully you can find a similar doctor in the area that you live. Much of their practice is helping the body get rid of toxins and giving the body the proper nutrition that it needs. They also do other forms of treatment such as addressing food allergies, controlling candida overgrowth, and helping the body overcome inflamation. Now where do you find people that have been cured from your incurable disease? From the Internet of course. Dr. Andrew Weil suggested that individuals create web sites dedicated to reports of spontaneous healing. Finding a website devoted to testimonials or accounts of spontaneous healing may be hard to find, but there are some website with product testimonials. Young Living Essential Oils offers products that reduce toxins in the body and provide proper nutrition. They have a list of over 2,000 case reports of healing from the use of their products. Their testimonials are listed by the type of disease that people have recovered from. You can check things out for yourself at http://www.oil-testimonials.com/7808. Nikken offers products that help the body detox by the use of nutritional products and magnets. They have documented reports of healing from pain caused by injuries, chronic conditions, autism, ADHD, and numerous other conditions. All you have to do is contact a Nikken Independent Consultant and they can check their vast network of individuals (30 million served) to put you in contact with someone who has recovered from your illness. Since I am a Nikken Independent consultant feel free to contact me so I can find someone who has recovered from an illness similar to the one you or your family member is trying to recover from. I can be contacted by E-mail at Your Family Clinic. The best cancer recovery support groups that I know about are the ones that use a Beam Ray. The Beam Ray is often offered for people to use free of charge. The Beam Ray is not FDA approved so they can never say that it cures anything. The website of http://www.crossoverroad.com/beamray.htm offers a testimonial of someone recovering from cancer. A similar approach to cancer, viruses, bacterial infections and AIDS treatment can be found at http://www.leadthefield.co.za/scio.htm. Contacting information is offered on these web pages and they can hopefully lead you to individuals who have recovered from incurable diseases. Reading books devoted to the subject is another way to find real people who have recovered from a variety of illnesses. A great book that talks about healing from Autism, ADHD, Allergies and Asthma was written by Dr. Kenneth Bock, M.D. and is entitled: Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies: The Groundbreaking Program for the 4-A Disorders. He describes several techniques he uses to get complete recovery from these incurable disorders. In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill described how his son completely recovered from being born with no hearing and no ears. Motivational speaker Zig Zigler describes a case of a boy fully recovering from Cerebral Palsy and he described some of the things the parents did to achieve this recovery. So, if you look you are likely to find. Yes, you need to be careful about false claims on the Internet. It may seem like a jungle to you. However, if you talk to enough people, the false claims will separate themselves from the claims that will really work for you. Your vision of what you want will help guide you. If you are religious, then you have other sources of guidance as well. You may not need to recover from any incurable disease. You may simply be interested in having a healthy body and enjoying life to it's fullest. This is a great goal. Just make it a little more specific. For example: How much do you wish to weigh? What kind of relationships do you want with your spouse or partner, with your children, with your friends? These are all important questions in following guideline number one. If you have any problems with this guideline, please let me know. If you have a disease or disorder that cannot be found on the Internet, please feel free to contact me. Your questions and input will help me in future revisions of these guidelines. I hope you will take advantage of these offers that come to you without obligation. Scientific evidence for Guideline One. I am currently unaware of any scientific evidence for my first guideline. Is that awful or what? There is plenty of scientific evidence (e.g., randomly controlled double blinded studies) that suggest that if you have a chronic condition (e.g., cancer, ADHD, Autism) that you will have it for the rest of your life and the only thing that can be done is to treat symptoms. However, some cancers do respond to chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Fortunately the research suggests that medical doctors are getting better in treating some forms of cancer. The research suggests that finding people who have spontaneously recovered from these chronic conditions will be rare. To me, it makes perfect common sense that to start off any task (e.g., getting well) you have to start with a goal or clear outcome. Most scientists will agree on that. Having a clear goal on the onset allows you to know if you have achieved your objective or not. During the second part of guideline one, you become the scientist or researcher to find people who are telling the truth about recovering from their illness. Finding these people and talking to them will give you the hope and the courage to continue on the road to optimum wellness. Hopefully some day you will have all the scientific evidence that you need to not only help yourself but to someday help someone else who is scared and struggling with their seemingly incurable disorder. See, I told you these guidelines were straight forward and easy to do. If it is not easy, please contact me and I will help you in your search. This guideline is affordable to everyone, even if you do not have a computer to do Internet searches. Public libraries have computers that are connected to the Internet, these computers are offered to almost everyone. Good luck in your search and remember to set high, seemingly impossible goals of optimum wellness! Make sure you can envision yourself obtaining this goal. Make the vision very detailed. By the end of these guidelines you should have enough information to help you achieve this seemingly impossible goal. Hopefully some of the links in this article will also be helpful to you and point you in the right direction. Guideline two talks about toxins. I will talk to you about the many sources of toxins tomorrow. Thanks again for your valuable time. If you would like the other guidelines, please contact me so that I can send them to you. You can contact me through E-mail. If you have questions, please feel free to E-mail us at Your Family Clinic. Return to Your Family Clinic |
